Directed by theatre veteran Jehan Aloysius, who not only helms the production but also embodies the central character, Mr. Scrooge, 'A Christmas Carol - The Musical' marked a splendid beginning to Colombo's Christmas celebrations this year.

Based on one of Charles Dickens' most famous tales, the adaptation brought the story to life on stage with a meticulously curated score and music also crafted by Aloysius, whose influence resonates throughout the performance.

The production opens with a grand ensemble number, illuminated under the vibrant lights of the Lionel Wendt Theatre, instantly showcasing the richness of Sri Lanka's theatrical talent. From seasoned performers like Dr. Sean Amarasekara to promising new faces, the production set a high benchmark, evident in the audience's continuous delight at the exceptional acting and singing.
