LAUGFS Gas drives national dialogue on indoor emissions with 'Dara Kadulu' public awareness campaign on 2025 World LPG Day

IN a bold move to address the health and environmental risks of traditional cooking practices, LAUGFS Gas PLC launched a high-impact public awareness campaign titled 'Dara Kadulu' as part of its World LPG Day 2025 initiatives.

The campaign was strategically designed to raise awareness of the dangers of indoor air pollution caused by firewood use, and to promote LPG as a cleaner, safer alternative.

Executed in a high-footfall location in Colombo, the campaign featured a symbolic installation portraying a woman suffering from the effects of prolonged exposure to cooking smoke. The live enactment was supported by ambient effects, realistic props, and a visually immersive setting that replicated a smoke-filled kitchen environment. The initiative succeeded in drawing significant attention from the public, encouraging onlookers to engage with the message and reflect on the health consequences of firewood-based cooking.
