EC revises postal voting dates for LG polls

THE Elections Commission yesterday announced revised dates for the postal voting for the upcoming Local Government Elections.

Elections Commission Chairman R.M.A.L. Rathnayake noted in a statement that postal voting will take place on 22, 28 and 29 April. Previously, postal voting was scheduled for 22, 23, 24, 28 and 29 April.
The Chairman said poll cards for all 339 local bodies were handed over to the Postal Department on 16 April and the distribution of poll cards has already commenced.
