Zoe to take time off after mother's cancer diagnosis

ZOE Ball is taking time away from her Radio 2 show as her mother Julia has been diagnosed with cancer, she yesterday revealed.

The presenter, 53, said she and her family were going through "tough times" after her mother's diagnosis, and praised her for being brave.

Zoe posted a photo on social media of her mother surrounded by family members, along with another of her receiving chemotherapy treatment.

Alongside the post, she wrote: "Heartbreakingly, our beautiful mama Julia has been diagnosed with cancer.

"As many of you know from experience, these are extremely tough times. Mum is being incredibly brave.
