Yet another nightmare Down Under switches off fed-up fans

MOST ardent sports fans - those who like to attend live events - have bucket lists and a trip to Australia for the Ashes is towards the top of many.

Seriously, it's now getting to the stage where you have to wonder if England players are even bothered about applying themselves to the extremely stern challenge of Test match cricket in Australia.

The truly lamentable performance of Ben Stokes' side reminds you of the famous quote by an old colleague of mine.

Ahead of the 1986-87 series in Australia, Martin Johnson wrote this about the tourists: “There are only three things wrong about this England team... they can't bat, they can't bowl, they can't field.”
