Welcome return to royal family of nations

THE Royal Family were out in force for the Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey yesterday, which saw the King and Princess of Wales attend for the first time in two years.

The event in 2024 fell as Charles, 76, and Kate, 43, had commenced their cancer treatments and took a step back from public duties.

But this year the pair were front and centre as they celebrated the family of nations alongside the Queen, Prince of Wales, Princess Royal, senior Government figures and a 2,000-strong congregation.

Kate, wearing a bright red Catherine Walker dress and matching hat by Gina Foster, arrived alongside her husband at the Abbey’s great west door, where they waited for the King and Queen after being greeted by Dr David Hoyle, Dean of Westminster.

The prince and princess appeared to share a joke as they arrived and were later pictured laughing and smiling when they took their seats.
