Turned out niece again

121-year-old postcard brings together family's thrilled descendants

A POSTCARD delivered 121 years late has brought together different branches of a family who recognised the writer and intended recipient during an appeal for information.

The card arrived at Swansea Building Society this month addressed to Miss Lydia Davies. She is thought to have lived at what is now the society's head office and should have received the post from her younger brother Ewart in August 1903.

Henry Darby, who works at the HQ now, was intrigued by the postcard - sent from sunny Fishguard, Pembrokeshire, but featur ing a reindeer in the snow - and appealed in the Daily Express for help finding out more about Lydia.

Happily, Lydia's great-nieces Helen Roberts and Margaret Spooner, from Swansea, and great-granddaughter Faith Reynolds saw the family link.
