THOUSANDS LOSING SLEEP OVER HEARTBURN

Heartburn is robbing tens of thousands of us of a good night's sleep, says research. A study by indigestion remedy makers Rennie suggests 70 per cent of sufferers are affected - losing an average of 53 hours' sleep every year.

It also revealed 29.4 per cent say the painful condition has affected their productivity at work.

Men are slightly more likely to lose sleep over heartburn, according to the survey of 2,000 adults, with Zoomers (81 per cent) and Millennials (78 per cent) more affected than their older counterparts. Just 52 per cent of Baby Boomers (aged 60 to 78) say heartburn hits their sleep.
