Teacher ban over dozens of messages sent to pupil

A TEACHER messaged a pupil about her sexual encounters and encouraged him to drink alcohol and smoke cannabis with her, a panel has found.

Charlotte Doman, then 32, taught history at William Edwards comprehensive in Grays, Essex. The Teaching Regulation Agency panel heard she had called the youth “little duck” and also told him she loved him.

She has been banned from teaching indefinitely, subject to a five-year review. Doman did not attend a misconduct hearing but said in a state ment the nickname was “not roman tic” and she was letting the boy know someone “cared about his existence”.
