Taylor Swift tickets and overseas trips among £1m in freebies for MPs

MPS have received more than £1million in gifts since the general election.

Analysis of the Register of Interests shows 319 enjoyed freebies since last July, including foreign travel, accommodation and Taylor Swift tickets.

Some 236 declared gifts from UK sources, totalling £477,539, while 144 went on overseas trips paid for by donors, charities, think tanks or foreign governments, worth £810,761.

Arsenal fan Sir Keir Starmer, the focus of a freebies row after entering No 10, was the biggest recipient of hospitality from UK sources.

The Prime Minister declared £11,170 worth of football tickets — the lion's share of his £17,344 hospitality and gifts total since the election while Reform UK leader Nigel Farage declared the highest value of gifts, £98,709 in total over the past year.
