Spikers who prey on women facing justice

Ministers have come under pressure from some quarters to make spiking and injecting drugs to unsuspecting revellers a specific offence. But the plans stop short of that.

Instead the Home Office has set out practical steps it is taking to protect women.

Alongside plans to amend the Criminal Justice Bill and update the Offences Against The Person Act 1861, officials said hundreds more door staff will be trained to spot offenders.
