Sniper kills two Russians with one shot from record 2.5 miles

A UKRAINIAN sniper has reportedly set a world record for the longest confirmed kill in military history.

The extraordinary shot, believed to have been fired last Thursday, eliminated two Russian soldiers with a single bullet from more than two-and-ahalf miles away.

The trigger was pulled by a soldier with Ukraine's elite Pryvyd - Ghost - sniper unit in Donetsk's Pokrovsk sector.

Using a domestically produced 14.5mm Alligator rifle, he struck his targets from around 4,000 metres. It surpassed the previous record set in 2023 by another Ukrainian marksman from 3,800m away.

News reports credited precision marksmanship, advanced drone reconnaissance and artificial intelligence to calculate firing solutions.
