Toffees goal hero Barry makes Toon suffer as punishing schedule bites & Howe blasts the 'perils of Europe'

JACOB MURPHY admits Newcastle's punishing schedule is taking its toll on the players, but says "naivety" cost the Magpies against Everton.

Newcastle have clocked up 45 competitive games in all competitions this season and face at least 13 more before the campaign is done.

Murphy, who netted the equaliser at 2-2 against the Toffees, says that he and his teammates were in too much of a rush to get the game restarted against David Moyes side and were consequently punished as Thierno Barry bundled home the winner a minute later.

Head coach Eddie Howe pointed to the “perils of Europe” and lack of preparation time for the Everton game, which took place just three days after the Champions League playoff against Qarabag.
