Kyiv starts the bidding ahead of Saudi Arabian peace talks

UKRAINE is set to propose a “sky and sea” truce with Russia during peace talks with US officials in Saudi Arabia today.

It will be the first meeting between the nations since a White House bust-up between Volodymyr Zelensky and Donald Trump prompted Washington to halt military aid to Kyiv.

The Ukrainian president met Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman yesterday in what is set to be a crunch week in the peace process.

A Ukrainian official said: “We do have a proposal for a ceasefire in the sky and ceasefire at sea, because these are the options that are easy to install and to monitor and it’s possible to start with them.”
