Shirley: I've had enough cancer scares so breast screening is a priority

STRICTLY head judge Shirley Ballas has teamed up with breast cancer survivors Julia Bradbury and Victoria Derbyshire for the NHS's first screening awareness campaign.

The three TV stars have written letters to women invited for checks, urging them to go because the earlier the disease is caught the better their chance of survival.

Shirley, 64, who had breast implants removed in 2019 to make mammograms easier, wrote: "I've had many scares when it's come to various other cancers.

"It's extremely important that every woman saves the date when their breast screening letter comes through the door. Make it a priority.

"So many times we leave things because we're too busy with our lives. We don't always want to get things done there and then.
