Sgt John Holoka died with two US pilot comrades inside their B-24 Liberator near Arundel, West Sussex, in June 1944.
The body of Sgt John Crowther was found at the time but Sgt Holoka, inset right, and Lt William Montgomery were not recovered.
Three site searches by archaeologists in 20172021 unearthed human remains and US officials confirmed last week that some had come from Lt Montgomery, 24.
