SURVIVAL HAS A FUNNY FEEL

Tarkowski is so proud but lacks the party spirit

THERE was not the same elation of the previous two Everton secured safety.

This time they do not have the same release of pressure in the final week of the campaign, as they have survived with three games to go.

There was also an air of inevitability given Luton's defeat by Wolves earlier in the day. If it was not Saturday, it could have been next weekend.

Maybe there was still a hangover from Wednesday's Merseyside Derby win, too.

Yet after their previous survival attempts under Frank Lampard and Sean Dyche, this one should have felt the biggest achievement, if avoiding heading to the Championship can be considered as such.
