Runway will bring 276,000 extra flights

HEATHROW has unveiled its £49billion plan for a third runway that could bring 276,000 more flights a year.

The cash will come from the private sector and includes £15bn to modernise existing infrastructure.

It will involve diverting the M25 through a tunnel under the runway, but it faces opposition including in the nearby village of Harmondsworth.
