RACHEL Reeves had critics rolling in the aisles as she visited a supermarket with a vow to bring down inflation via measures she'll unveil in next week's Budget.

The Chancellor dodged questions on whether the burdens she imposed on employers a year ago had contributed to soaring prices at the checkouts.

It came as experts predicted a tough Christmas with food price inflation tipped to soar to 6% by the end of the year.
