Raise a glass! Champagne and white wine can cut risk of cardiac arrest

Fruit and keeping trim also give protection

DRINKING white wine and Champagne can drive down the risk of sudden cardiac arrest, a study has revealed.

Although the exact reasons were unclear, researchers have identified the “cardioprotective effect” of wine, and suggested moderate consumption could have a benefit.

Experts also said eating more fruit, maintaining a positive mood, staying a healthy weight and keeping blood pressure under control seemed to protect against a cardiac arrest.
