TARVET: Fulfils dream
OLIVER TARVET fulfilled a “dream come true” after qualifying for Wimbledon to become the 23rd home player in today’s draw.
The world No.791 from St Albans beat Belgian Alexander Blockx 6-3 3-6 6-2 6-1 at Roehampton to be the first Brit to come through qualifying since Alex Ward in 2017.
The number of British players in the singles draw is the highest since 1984.
