Police smash 241 County Lines drug gangs in one week

OFFICERS smashed 241 County Lines operations during a week of targeted action against the criminal drugs gangs.

The nationwide police operation saw drugs with an estimated street value of more than £15million seized along with a haul of weapons that included 83 guns.

County Lines is a term used to describe gangs and organised networks who exploit children and vulnerable adults as they deliver supplies of illegal drugs around the UK.

They usually operate in big cities and target smaller towns, rural areas and seaside resorts, paying no heed to acknowledged criminal borders.
