Police 'must look into every crime'

POLICE chiefs have enough officers to pursue leads, the Home Secretary said yesterday, who insisted "there is no such crime as minor crime".

Suella Braverman said it was "unacceptable" shoplifting, criminal damage, phone and car thefts were seen as "less important".

Forces have pledged to follow all "reasonable lines of inquiry" to improve investigations and catch more offenders.
