Camilla stages starry night for 400 years of Shakespeare's plays

NOT a Bard line-up...Queen Camilla joined a host of legendary actors, authors and directors last night to celebrate Shakespeare.

The 76-year-old consort mingled with the likes of Dames Joanna Lumley, 77, and Vanessa Redgrave, 87, at a London event part of celebrations marking 400 years since the first published collection of the playwright's work.

She wore an emerald green velvet dress as she was greeted by broadcaster Gyles Brandreth, who introduced her to guests with strong links to Shakespeare's plays, including actors Julian Glover, 88, Gary Oldman, 65, and Sir David Suchet, 77.

Host Gyles, 75 - a close friend of the Queen - handed her a Valentine's Day gift of white jumpers with red hearts on them, for her and the King.
