'Our hearts are broken' ...family's tribute as boy charged with murder

A GRANDFATHER who died after he was allegedly attacked while walking his dog was "a loving, caring person whose life centred around his family", heartbroken relatives said yesterday.

Bhim Kohli, 80, was allegedly kicked in the neck and back after encountering a group of children as he took his pet Rocky through Franklin Park, in Braunstone Town, Leics, on Sunday evening.

He died in hospital the following day as a result of a neck injury, post-mortem results have revealed.

Last night, a 14-year-old boy was charged with his murder.

The youth, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is due to appear at Leicester Youth Court sitting at Leicester Magistrates' Court today.

Police initially arrested five children, aged between 12 and 14, on suspicion of murder. Four were released without charge.
