No fares cut on Labour's nationalised rail routes

RAIL fares will continue to rise after Labour's renationalisation, the Transport Secretary has confirmed.
Heidi Alexander also admitted she did not know how much the policy would cost.
From March, fares are set to rise 4.6%, a figure she repeated when asked if tickets would get cheaper with public ownership.
Ms Alexander said: "The commercial realities of the railways are very challenging at the moment.
"Even under public ownership we've got to make sure that we've got enough money to provide the services that people want.
