New president portrait 'looks like jail shot'

DONALD Trump has updated his official portrait just five months after retaking office, in what appears to be a backfired bid for a softer look.

Some joked that the US president, 78, might have accidentally uploaded the 2023 mugshot from when he faced charges over efforts to overturn Georgia's 2020 election results.

Many said Mr Trump's grim-faced pose bore an uncanny resemblance to his booking photo from the Fulton County Jail in Atlanta.

One social media user remarked: “The only difference is lighting and Photoshop.”

Another said: “Did he just pick the mugshot and run it through an Instagram filter?”
