Missing mug racism claim is dismissed

AN office worker who sued for racism when his work mug went missing lost his case after an employment tribunal said he was confrontational.

Adeel Habib had alleged staff “cold shouldered” him as he got upset at its loss — but the Southampton tribunal heard his implication colleagues had stolen it was “out of proportion”.

Mr Habib joined Currys as a credit support associate in January 2023 at Poole, Dorset, but lasted less than four months. The panel was told he was “greatly upset” when his mug vanished in March and a colleague said if it had been left in the kitchen it might have been seen as communal.
