'Officers located a car upside down and partially under water'

MISSING BOYS DIED IN CRASH HORROR

FOUR school friends who went missing on a camping trip to Snowdonia were found dead in their partially submerged overturned car.

Loving tributes were paid to the teenagers after the wreckage was spotted near a mountain road.

The boys had been the focus of a major land and air search after they failed to return home to Shropshire from their trip to the Welsh national park.

They were named as, left to right below, Jevon Hirst, Harvey Owen, Wilf Henderson and Hugo SOLICE Morris. The Shrewsbury College friends were aged between 16 and 18.

Wilf's girlfriend Maddi posted online: "I love you so much, I'm going to miss you forever. The sweetest and most loving boy I've ever known. I hope you know how much I love you, gorgeous."

Police, mountain rescuers, coastguards and volunteers had searched for the A-level students and North Wales officers said their Ford Fiesta was found off the A4085 near Tremadog.

The boys had little driving experience between them and the weather was "atrocious" at the time, said local residents. The four friends had set out with a tent and sleeping bags on Saturday but worried family and friends raised the alarm on Monday.

Maddi's mother Lisa Corfield said yesterday she was "absolutely heartbroken" for her daughter and "all of the boys' family involved. Wilf was such a lovely kind lad and treated Maddi in a way only a mother could hope her daughter [would] be treated."
