MI5 chief: China's spies will face British courts

THE head of MI5 has pledged that China's spies will be prosecuted in order to counter "authoritarian states behaving much more aggressively".

Ken McCallum, the security service's director general, warned that tens of thousands of firms are being targeted by Beijing's squads for vital information.

He said China, led by President Xi Jinping, is after not just Government and military secrets, but is targeting tiny amounts of business data which when combined "adds up to real damage".

Britain's top spy believes more foreign spooks will end up in the dock under this year's National Security Act.
