Men's marathon world record holder and his coach die in car crash

ATHLETICS stars are in mourning after the men's marathon world record holder Kelvin Kiptum was killed in a road accident in his home country Kenya.
The 24-year-old is said to have lost control of his car and died along with his coach, Rwanda's Gervais Hakizimana.
Police said the runner had veered off the road late on Sunday, adding: "He drove in the ditch for about 60 metres before hitting a big tree." Kiptum and Hakizimana died at the scene while a young woman was seriously hurt and taken to hospital.
Sebastian Coe, Olympic medallist and president of World Athletics, yesterday said Kiptum was "an incredible athlete leaving an incredible legacy".
