MANUFACTURERS continued to see output decline in June as most business owners are looking at how they can progress under the Labour government.

Manufacturers fear Labour policies could derail growth

Last week ministers unveiled an industrial strategy aimed at giving high-growth sectors, such as advanced manufacturing, confidence in the next 10 years.

But research by S&P Global has highlighted business fears that Labour policies and Donald Trump's tariffs could thwart growth ambitions as markets become shakier.

However its latest purchasing managers' index showed the decline in output, new orders and employment slowed in June.
