Man, 76, is held over kids' summer camp 'poisoning'

A MAN of 76 has been arrested on suspicion of poisoning eight children at a summer camp.

Ambulance workers rushed to the scene on Sunday and set up an emergency triage centre to assess the youngsters in a village hall.

Following an initial examination, eight children were taken to hospital as a precaution. All have since been discharged.

Leicestershire Police received a report from a third party about children feeling unwell at the camp on Sunday, but the force did not attend the scene at Stathern Lodge near Melton Mowbray until a day later.
