Youngsters love a music gig

TODAY’S youngsters would rather attend a live concert than listen to tunes at home, a study reveals - with the findings a huge boost to Britain’s music industry.

The research shows 79% of under-20s prefer watching a band live at a gig, with the figure dropping to 68% for people over 50.

But the data shows young people’s enthusiasm for live concerts comes despite school access to music education remaining under critical threat, with an ongoing drop in GCSE and A-Level entries.
