Little miracle is really motoring after gene therapy saved his life

FOUR-YEAR-OLD Eisa Hussain has an ultra-rare and potentially fatal immune disease - but he's now living a normal life, thanks to groundbreaking gene therapy.

The little boy has leukocyte adhesion deficiency 1 (LAD-1) - an inherited condition that affects his ability to fight off infections and can kill kids before they are two.

But car-mad Eisa is now happily playing on his push-along motor and even going to school.

Before the new therapy, the only hope for LAD-1 sufferers was a stem cell transplant from a donor.
