CUTTING-EDGE laser technology will be available to British troops five years earlier than planned after Grant Shapps tore up MoD red tape.
The new defence procurement model, which came into force this week, will mean Royal Navy warships will have the DragonFire laser system in place for the first time from 2027 rather than 2032.
