PM wants closer ties with Brussels

SIR Keir Starmer has repeatedly refused to rule out the UK rejoining the EU.

The PM, who backed Remain in the 2016 Brexit campaign, said the vote must be respected in the run-up to last year’s General Election.

But in an interview with The Observer, he failed to make the same commitment again.

He said: “We've stopped having the discussion about whether we should go backwards and pick over Brexit.”

It comes as Sir Keir pursues closer ties with Brussels as part of his Brexit “reset”.
