Kemi's death threats over leadership 'coup'

KEMI Badenoch says she has received death threats over claims she is being lined up to replace Rishi Sunak in a Tory leadership coup.

And the furious Business and Trade Secretary hit out at former Culture Secretary Nadine Dorries, who she says has stoked the hate against her.

In her book, The Plot, Boris Johnson ally Ms Dorries claimed the same people who deposed him were now working to make Ms Badenoch, 44, the new leader.

Tory fixer Dougie Smith and Ms Badenoch's "mentor" Michael Gove were those she named as the plotters.

Ms Badenoch said threats sent to her had intensified since the publication.
