12TH STRAIGHT TOP FLIGHT HOME WIN FOR VILLA

EVEN Luton's famous last-gasp heroics weren't enough to stop Aston Villa rampaging to their 12th straight home win in the Premier League.

Villa made it a dazzling dozen by hitting Luton hard and giving them just too much to do. When the visitors did pull one back in the 84th minute it was a bizarre own-goal by keeper Emi Martinez.

The inspirational John McGinn powered Villa ahead in the 17th minute after a move that was straight from the training ground.

Lucas Digne lined up a free-kick wide of the area on the left and, rather than clip it across, sent a low ball towards Moussa Diaby lurking a few yards outside the box.

Diaby dummied it, leaving McGinn to go on a surging run into the area before firing in a low right-foot shot.
