'I spent two years believing I had disease'

A WOMAN who lived with a diagnosis of cancer for two years and had her eggs frozen after having immunotherapy was left in "complete shock" when doctors said the original verdict was wrong.

Megan Royle had nine lots of treatment plus surgery after skin cancer was incorrectly diagnosed.

She has won damages from London's Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust and Imperial College Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, which runs the pathology service used by Chelsea & Westminster Hospital. Both misinterpreted her results in 2019.

The error was found when she moved in 2021 and her records were reviewed.

Theatrical make-up artist Megan, 33, of Beverley, East Yorks, said she struggled to understand what had happened.

She added: "I've not had an explanation.
