Free NHS jab? Fat chance

THERE’S been a big hoo-ha this week about a new study that claims people on fat jabs might have to be on them for life.

So what? Isn’t that better than them dying from obesity related illnesses like cancer, heart attacks, strokes, diabetes? Why are so many people hellbent on criticising not celebrating a drug that can shift weight quickly and removes the imminent danger of life-threatening diseases?

Millions of Brits are on drugs for life — statins, beta blockers, angina meds, high blood pressure meds and HRT. But no one’s screaming about them. And if the NHS and the government is determined to label obesity as an illness (and they do) then they should be prepared to give people a drug that can cure the “illness” which is currently a national crisis and the biggest drain on our NHS.
