'Ella's Law will give legal right to clean air she did not have'

THE mother of a girl killed by air pollution has said that "finally" making clean air a legal right will save lives.

Green Party MP Sian Berry will reintroduce a bill to the Commons on July 1, in the name of Ella Adoo-Kissi-Debrah, nine, who in 2013 died from an asthma attack linked to filthy air.

The member for Brighton Pavilion is backed by Labour, Lib Dem, SNP and Independent MPs but hopes that her bill will be picked up by the Government in the next King's Speech.

Ella's determined mum Rosamund has long fought for stricter air pollution limits.

She said: "I am delighted Sian and the cross-section of MPs are taking forward Ella's Law.
