'Don't let go of that analogue landline'

CAMPAIGNERS are urging older people to refuse to give up their analogue phone landlines, following failures in the switch to digital services.

Silver Voices warn that issues with the new technology, which can fail in a power cut, might leave the vulnerable being unable to call for help.

Senior citizens are more prone to falls, heart attacks and strokes so are more reliant on analogue phones in a crisis, the activist group said.
