Danger cyclists ride roughshod over curbs

Our pictures reveal a man talking on his mobile with one hand off the handlebars in Central London days after the Government looked to toughen jail sentences for reckless behaviour.

Another photo shows three people on bikes weaving through pedestrians on a pavement last week, while two cyclists were spotted going down a road clearly marked "closed".

Under fresh laws making their way through Parliament, cyclists who cause death or serious injury could face up to 14 years in prison.

Tory MP Sir Iain Duncan Smith has been campaigning on the issue and believes riders should be accountable for reckless behaviour.

Speaking in the House of Commons, the former Conservative leader said his amendment to the Criminal Justice Bill was not "anti-cycling"..
