Coote 'has a useful future in the game'

DAVID COOTE deserves to have a role in English football, according to the president of the Referees' Association.

Coote's contract as an elite-level referee was terminated last month after a video emerged showing him describing Liverpool as "s***" and him calling their former manager, Jurgen Klopp, a "German c***".

A subsequent clip showed Coote taking cocaine.

In his first interview since his dismissal Coote has come out as gay and said his struggle to hide his sexuality had contributed to him making bad choices, such as the video about Liverpool and his use of drugs.
