Cocaine seizures show drug gangs targeting Britain

MORE than 18 tons of cocaine were seized last year by police and border officials in England and Wales - the highest total yet.
The United Nations has warned global production levels are at record levels as demand increases.
Border Force seized more than a ton of cocaine after finding parcels floating in the Channel on Tuesday.
Home Office figures, which do not include Tuesday's haul, showed that drug cartels are trying to flood Britain's streets with cocaine.
Police and Border Force officers seized 18,767kg of the drug in the year to March 2022, up from the previous record of 11,141kg the year before a 68 percent rise.
