PREMIER LEAGUE clubs are demanding a huge improvement in VAR and refereeing standards.

Despite a 19-1 vote to keep VAR next season, top-flight raised major clubs have concerns.

They want regular and better training for referees with set teams of VAR officials to kindle better understanding between officials as well as a drastic cut in delays and better messaging for fans in stadiums.

Clubs demand more outside voices within Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL) to stop ex-referees judging referees.

PGMOL chief Howard Webb, brought in to improve VAR, endured a nightmare season, when clubs and fans grew increasingly frustrated.

Wolves' proposal to scrap the system gained a lot of backing from match-going fans.
