MENSA has had a surge of interest in the wake of Channel 4’s new series Secret Genius, which aims to shine a light on some of Britain’s unsung/brain-boxes.
One of the entry routes into the society is taking one of its supervised 1Q tests, with those scoring in the top 2% offered membership.
The number of people who had a go at it between January 29 and February 6 was up 37% on the previous year.
An IQ test is designed to measure human cognitive abilities, including logical reasoning, problem-solving, memory and spatial recognition.
The average person will score between 90-109 but to join British Mensa you need to register 132 or more.
