'Blunt' boss who said sick 'snowflakes' days were for must pay woman £37,000

AN office manager whose boss allegedly told her she used the menopause as an "excuse for everything" has been awarded £37,000 for unfair dismissal and harassment.

Oil and fishing industry service company chief Jim Clark, 72, saw those who called in sick as "snowflakes", a tribunal heard.

When Karen Farquharson went back in after working from home for two days due to snow conditions and menopause symptoms, he accused her of "strolling in" when it suited her and dismissed her ordeal as "aches and pains", the hearing was told.
