ARTELL RUES GRIMSBY CUP HANGOVER

GRIMSBY boss David Artell slammed a dismal first-half display after his side crashed back down to earth following their Carabao Cup heroics against Manchester United.

Three days after causing a seismic shock with a penalty shootout victory over United, the Mariners were beaten 1-0 at home by BRISTOL ROVERS.

“Our performance in that first half was our worst of the season,” said Artell.

And referring to the midweek cup tie, he added: “It was always going to be the game after, rather than the ones leading up to it, that we might've struggled, but they're still professionals.”
